Who Was Sam Before the Nightmare?Before the nightmare, Sam was a federal employee and a former investigator with the NYC Board of Corrections. Sam was a frequent commentator on the inhumane conditions in New York State prisons on WBAI-FM in the '70s and early '80s. Sam was also a community activist and the founder and first President of his Block Association. He received the Citation of Merit shown below from the Lenox Hill Neighborhood Association in 1979 for his efforts to improve the security of senior citizens in his neighborhood. How likely is it that someone with such public service credentials, and who knew full well how the prison system and prisoners treat homosexuals and pedophiles, would commit two serious pedophilic felonies almost back to back? |
